In the serene land of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on June 25th, 1961, a child was born whose life would later become a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern society—Sreesakthi Saanthananda Maharshi.
His spiritual journey began unusually early. At the tender age of 11, in 1972, he received his first divine darshan of his Guru, Jagathguru Swami Satyananda Saraswathi. That moment was not just an encounter—it was a turning point that would define his life’s purpose.
By 1975, he had already chosen a path less traveled. Leaving behind the ordinary pursuits of youth, he became an inmate of the Sree Rama Dasa Ashram, immersing himself in spiritual discipline under the direct guidance of his Guru.
Yet, his journey was not limited to spirituality alone. With a strong academic foundation, he pursued Economics, completing both his graduation and post-graduation from prestigious institutions in Trivandrum. Even during his student years, his leadership qualities were evident. Between 1978 and 1983, he founded INSPIRES (International Society for the Propagation of Indian Religion and Epic Studies), igniting a cultural and spiritual awakening among youth.
As the years progressed, Saanthananda Maharshi seamlessly blended spirituality with social leadership. He played a pivotal role in organizations such as the Young Men’s Hindu Association, where he served as State General Secretary for eight years, and later as State General Secretary of the Sree Rama Dasa Mission. His administrative acumen and grassroots connection made him a natural leader.
A powerful orator and spiritual trainer, he traveled across Bharat, inspiring thousands through discourses, debates, and spiritual camps. His deep understanding of Sampoorna Yoga, combined with practical knowledge of indigenous healing systems, enabled him to guide seekers toward holistic well-being.
One of the defining moments of his mission was the Sri Rama Navami Ratha Yathra, a spiritual journey from Mookambika to Kanyakumari, uniting communities across all 14 districts of Kerala. His vision was clear—to rekindle dharma and cultural consciousness in society.
In 2002, guided by his Guru’s advice, he shifted his center of activities to Mysore, marking the beginning of a new chapter. Between 2003 and 2006, he traveled across India as a Parivrajaka (spiritual wanderer), deepening his understanding of the nation’s spiritual fabric.
With a renewed vision, he established the Swami Satyananda Saraswathi Foundation in 2007, followed by the SSS School of Sampoorna Yoga in 2008, creating structured platforms to disseminate spiritual knowledge.
In 2010, he took over the Sri Dharmashasthagiri Ayyappa Swami Temple near Electronic City, Bangalore, transforming it into a vibrant spiritual hub.
His inclusive vision found expression in 2014 with the introduction of Pongala, a unique ritual dedicated to empowering women spiritually. He continued to organize large-scale spiritual events, including the Sri Rama Navami Ratha Yathra in Karnataka from 2015 to 2017.
Beyond spiritual institutions, he also ventured into societal well-being through initiatives like Manwanthara Nutraceuticals, emphasizing holistic health.
Today, Sreesakthi Saanthananda Maharshi serves in multiple capacities—as a trustee of several spiritual organizations across India, a national-level spiritual leader, and a guiding force in global initiatives, including the Swami Satyananda Saraswathi Foundation in the USA. Currently, he also serves as the President of Sree Rama Dasa Ashrama at Thiruvananthapuram, continuing the legacy of his Guru while guiding countless seekers on the path of dharma and self-realization.
